Good afternoon, dear all,

Do you have any picture in which appear those OSE N11 & N12 Car Carrier wagons in a rack of coaches?

I mean...with the produced coaches in miniature (OSE exDB Bcm carriages, OSE EN ABmhe carriages, OSE EN Bcme sleeping carriages, OSE VEB ABm & BDm carriages, or the future 'suprise' OSE POZNAN Bcm carriages   ) , which is the ideal stock to put with?

Regards

BalkanExpress,

I only saw the Yu Car carriers in Greece on working trains. I saw them on the overnight sleeper trains between Thessaloniki and Athens. These used to have 2 or 3 red red EN sleeper carriages, two exCIWL sleepers, one exDB red sleeper, the SNCF silver one and one or two Green Bms or exDB blue and cream. I hope I understood your question.
Of course there were also European car carriers coming in with International Trains and car carriers in goods trains bringing in imported cars from Europe.

OK, If I get it right OSE has acquired three different car carriers, one from Yugoslavia, classified as N11 and two types from France, classified as N12.
I have some questions about them.

First type, 30 73 469 0 0xx-x some of them are classified as Sekqss the majority though are DD.
according the UIC classification system the first two digits (30) indicate a freight wagon and the Sekqss as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UIC_classi ... ods_wagons
while the DD classification is that of a Double-decker car transporter of the passenger coach type http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UIC_classi ... ay_coaches
that means the DD shouldn't have the 30 first diggits but something indicating a passenger wagon

The only thing I can guess is that this type was never used at the passenger trains and were only used to carry freight.
The DD that they still bear probably people at OSE never bothered to replace.
Suppose, somebody knows better and will give us the missing info.

With the second type things seems to be more straightforward. there are 2 classifications:
31 73 4690 1xx-x Sekss indicating that these were used with freight, 31 means 4+ axles, railway-owned
65 73 98 70 0xx-x DDm that were used on passenger trains, 65 intdicates Automobile transport car for passenger trains and DD as mentioned above

for the record Sekss shows:
S: Special flat wagon with bogies
e: Double-decker wagon for motor vehicles (for the S class only)
k: Maximum load on class C route: m < 40 t
ss: Permitted in trains up to 120 km/h

Although I won't ever learn it by heart like probably Jason does, it's fun to fiddle with it now and then :D
if you haven't done that before, strat here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UIC_wagon_numbers and give it a try

concluding, could we have some more info, place and year of built, units, numbering etc

31 73 4690 103-4 Sekss at Agios Ioannis, like all the rest

Christo, do you have photos of all 5 wagons?
Were all of them lettered as Sekgss-v?

Sky,
I am afraid I have no more photos of this type. However, whenever I used to see one of them they were always Sekgss type. In OSE official 1984 stock list, all 5 N11 are classified as Sekgss-v. I am sorry I cannot help more.
