With this small addition my small diorama becomes a lot more flexible. The Train Safe adapter will allow me to easily run trains on and off the layout thus allowing for greater variety. Once my renumbered and converted to new logo Adtranz arrives in Toronto, I will finally be able to use all the coaches I acquired from Christo a year ago! :)

The ADtranz with a new logo is the newest addition to the collection - thank you to a number of friends who made this happen! Now its time to replace temporary scenery with something more finished.

John,
I see your moving attempt to recreate a little piece of Greece and you very much remind me the way I started. I needed a little bit of home turf here in the UK. The only problem was, that there was nothing to buy in those early days and I knew nothing about Greek Railways.
We are so lucky now with what is available. Well done and keep motivating those of us who still run our trains on bare boards  .

Thanks for your kind words Christo! Still a lot of work to do to capture my fond memories and feelings for Greece in HO scale! And you are right we are so lucky with what is available - both RTR and through the μάστορες who have built and commissioned the excellent models we have had access to over the last 10-15 years!

It has been more that a couple of years since I've added to this thread. My small temporary closet layout, is now more or less permanent. I've become accustomed to its limitations and am now content to add to it and make adjustments as the mood strikes. Because I conceived of this as temporary, the layout did not start with a high scenery standard. I'm slowly improving it. In any case here is a newer photo - "night" photography hides a lot of imperfections!
