These were the last two units built but not delivered due to cancellations.

And this is the Roco bogie (painted) provided with the DMU. Unfortunately this bogie has been the cause of much maligning of the Ganz model, and it didn't stop there ...

...but this particular problem is now solved. Apparently there is an anonymous person in Athens producing replacement bogies but all details are only communicated privately, through a specific Greek network. Maybe some friend here in this forum can also access that Greek network and can publicise a name, an address, a price, and availability.

The D.M.s (Driving Motors) were, at the beginning, 11. Ten whole D.M.U.s and one spare.

AA 91 - AA 181 - AA 171
AA 92 - AA 182 - AA 172
AA 93 - AA 183 - AA 173
AA 94 - AA 184 - AA 174
AA 95 - AA 185 - AA 175
AA 96 - AA 186 - AA 176
AA 97 - AA 187 - AA 177
AA 98 - AA 188 - AA 178
AA 99 - AA 189 - AA 179
AA 100 - AA 190 - AA 180
AA 1101 (4-digit number to prevent mixing up with the A 101 - 130 V. 60s.)

All these were built in 1976 by GANZ MAVAG BUDAPEST.

Unfortunately, AA 100 had an accident at Platania and couldn't be repaired (it was finally scrapped, finally, in the late 1990s at Nea Magnisia). O.S.E., later, in 1987 ordered one Driving Motor more, which covered the previous one's numbering, as AA 100, so there were 12 D.M.s at this class, which is often written (correctly) as AA 91-100,100,1101.

Since 1991, they were used as two-vehicle DMUs ( D.M. + D.T. ) while the BAR vehicles were withdrawn, with Μ.ΛΑ. (Μηχανοστάσιο ΛΑρίσης - Larissa depot) being their base.

After they were completely replaced in all roles by other rolling stock, with last-working being AA 98 - AA 172 ** they were nearly all transported at three different places at Zachari and (in ~ 2007) some were scrapped there.

At the beginning of 2013, there was a fire at one of the places at Zachari causing all of the GANZ MAVAGs there to be burnt and completely destroyed. For example, these are the photos of the same vehicles.

Jason,

Just to thank you one more time, this time publicly. Your wonderful photos of the burnt out restaurant cars were invaluable at designing my kit.

BM IN ganz - Copy.jpg

Note how the original deep blue faded into a sky blue as seen in this photo from an OSE leaflet.

and can publicise a name, an address, a price, and availability.

I had an email. The price is 150 euros for a set of replacement bogies. No answers to the other questions.

Additionally, one question that possibly only Jason can answer. Because of the following photo, when was AA100 damaged in an accident?

BM CG Ganz 85.jpg

Photo Balkanmodels: I did not note the exact date but it is sometime in 1985. The location is behind the DMU Shed Thessaloniki. Is this the scrapped unit AA100? There are also some damaged Fiats and a Ferrostal in the sidings.

Jason,
I did a little research and my photo was taken in June of that year. It could have been moved to Nea Magnesia later that year.
