Δ 881-883 GEISMAR VMT 860 PL

Lately im using proastiakos service on my way to work and this prety lady can be seen at Stathmos Larissis,so i've done some reaserch and also found/got some pictures. There are 3 of them.I saw 881 at thessaloniki passenger station once and 883 always parked at Larissis station,no clue about 882. Equiped with a 6 cylinder Deutz diesel engine,190kW max output and 100km/h max speed. Can carry 16 passengers,plus the drivers.

Although it's rather a Works vehicle than a loco, it will be interesting to know more about its use.

Δ 881 was at Drama when I visited over Easter.

Note the station behind.It is Stathmos Peloponnisoy, one year before it closed.

Greetings everyone

I really liked this vehicle so i decided with the help of a colleague (who does all the drawings) to make one. First of all the maintenance handbook obtained and it was a great help since it contains all the basic dimensions and other helpful info. After that there was a visit at Stathmos Larissis where ΔΡ 883 is parked for measurements and countless (really countless) photos. Some of them are below. During the measurements no security guards where harmed! :lol:

Greetings Everyone!

Slow but steady work is being done with this model.So far the project is devided into two parts,upper body and lower body which basicaly includes the main chassis and the motor along with the gears. The drawing for the upper body in its prototype form is almost ready and soon will be 3D printed. The chassis is gonna be made out of bronze and shaped with a cnc mill. As for the gears and the transmission in general will be calculated with the old and trustworthy book from the technological institute days.
