The most boring passenger coaches .... in my opinion :P

Builder: ZAKLADY PRZEMYSLU METALOWEGO H.CEGIELSKI - POZNAN PRZEDSIEBIORSTWO PANSTWOWE, type 216A. Built in 1967 - 1968.

 51 73 20-80 201 - 234, Bm.
 51 73 39-80 051 - 066, ABm.
 51 73 59-80 001 - 012, Bcm. Some of them were demoted to 51 73 59-10 0XX-X

Plans for rebuilding 9 of them by HELLENIC SHIPYARDS were made but not continued. These 9 coaches are still '' waiting '' half - rebuilt at HELLENIC SHIPYARDS' area. They would get the numberings 61 73 20-67 241 - 243 (i think '' Bmy '' , ex- Bm) and 61 73 19-76 201 - 206 (i think '' ABmy '', ex- ABm).

Bm series ....:

I, on the other hand, liked these carriages very much. With individualistic hand rails, wide brassy window frames and above all, unique sides that curved under the solebar. I think the only Greek carriages that had this detail.

Maybe some parts of them are interesting ... but I don't like the general shape and characteristics.

It's a shame all these nice coaches that have served people for so many years to be in such a terrible state! :(
Looters seems to have stolen everything that was "removable" on them!

Is there a chance any of them to be restored and displayed? Maybe by the Rail Museums at Athens and Thessaloniki.
Of course the best thing would be someone in OSE finaly consider the profit chances of the Tourist excursions and come up with the "brilliant" idea to restore some of the historic rolling stock...

As you see, all the photos except one are taken around Thessaloniki.... so of course, everything is looted and destroyed. The only place near Thessaloniki where there are some not-looted coaches (unfortunately i haven't seen there any Cegielski) in really good condition is Anchialos... but i haven't got much from there. Generally don't expect good condition vehicles from the other places.
