Models were produced firstly from HERIS and then by Alpha Trains. Vangelis liked these carriages a lot.

The current numbers are these:

 61 73 20-76 654 - 667, ex- 51 73 20-80 654 - 667, Bmhe
 61 73 39-76 200 - 205, ex- 51 73 39-80 200 - 205, ABmhe

Some of these coaches are still (rarely) used. There are backup wagons at Lianokladi, Larissa, Thessaloniki (?), Alexandroupoli and maybe Drama (?). For example during the summer, some days, two of them hauled by a A.D.TRANZ / BOMBARDIER loco were used for Larissa - Volos - Larissa trains.

"61 73 39-76 203-2 - Lianokladi, the current backup coach"

that means if they have a problem with a coach they are going to use this one? passengers will have to seat in there?

If the Stylida's railbus has a problem, and the AEG backup has one too, then the backup A.D.TRANZ / BOMBARDIER with this coach will be used.

Also, some months ago, train 885 Kalambaka - Athens was overcrowded, and they tried to add this coach.... Finally they did not because it had a problem with its inside door.

Anyway, why not seat there ? Its interior is nice ;) ;)

You're right Jason, the interior looks just fine. I wish I have the chance to travel with it.
I was talking about the exterior. We have of course to blame the "artists", but the average passenger won't have a positive impression of that looks :(

OSE Bmhe of the europartrain, when Europeans had time to deal with more entertaining things than todays crisis...

''The europartrain, an international contemporary art project by the artist Hans Kalliwoda and executed by the Blindpainters Foundation in Amsterdam. The europartrain traveled through Europe, dynamically collecting railway carriages from every country to initiate and stimulate the interaction and cooperation between the different European cultures. In every city where the europartrain stopped festivals, manifestations and exhibitions have been organised. Artists from all over Europe were invited to come to the europartrain and create art works that are representative of the present European cultural climate.

The journey of the europartrain started in 1997 in Thessaloniki, Greece, then the Cultural Capital of Europe. In the fall of 2000 the train was the focus of a large-scale festival in Cracow, Poland, one of the European Cultural Capitals.''

Andy, I'm glad those photos stimulated your childhood memories! guess that's something one never forgets.
I hadn't noticed that when it was happening, actually it was within a period of almost ten years, since 1992, that I was leaving with no TV :D

thanks for the photo and numbering of our coach.
Let's hope to see international passenger traffic down here again, and you having the chance to shoot OSE coaches in Austria some day soon.
